This project came to Kennedy Construction through a referral from a couple that had their beautiful craftsman home renovated.
Impressed by what they saw, Colin and Karla wanted their classic Dunbar home to be revamped with the same quality and thoroughness.
This required a complete down-to-the-studs renovation, opening up walls, moving rooms, enlarging a bathroom, and creating two new bedrooms. Because of the house’s age, asbestos had to be removed, all the electrical and plumbing upgraded, and more energy-efficient windows and doors installed.
To accommodate the two new bedrooms, a staircase was created between the main floor and basement. Upstairs a master bedroom grew to encompass the whole upper floor. By Colin and Karla electing to rejuvenate this house, the City of Vancouver was 100% supportive. A recycled home instead of a teardown.
A goal shared by the owners and the Kennedy Construction team.
