Richard and Esther, local artists, were fortunate enough to buy a tired, dated commercial space in the Strathcona neighborhood. Why fortunate? This unique building presented them with an opportunity to have their work and living space coexist under one roof.
Kennedy Construction’s first job was to completely gut the building and then working with Birmingham & Wood Architects, reconfigure the space into a one-bedroom apartment at the back and a studio/gallery as the storefront.
