Working in seamless collaboration with West Vancouver architect Katie Hlynsky and North Vancouver interior designer Jennifer Heffel of HB Design, Kennedy Construction has breathed new life into an existing residence, elevating it into a luxurious, executive-level sanctuary of West Coast Modern design.

Tethered to the Tide

The ambitious renovation was guided by a single, unwavering vision: to dissolve the boundaries between the built environment and the rugged beauty of the Pacific. The result is a home that doesn’t just overlook the ocean, it engages with it. “The goal was to craft a space that feels tethered to the tide,” notes the team at Kennedy Construction. By prioritizing an effortless flow between indoor and outdoor living, the home invites the restorative scent of salt air and the gentle rhythm of the cove directly into the heart of the residence.

That intention is made literal by a breathtaking 12-foot-wide floor-to-ceiling glass sliding system, a vanishing threshold that opens the living space entirely onto a private, expansive patio. Elsewhere, the elegance lies in deliberate restraint and the warmth of natural materials. The exterior is defined by the rich, earthy tones of clear cedar decking and meticulously installed hemlock soffits, grounding the modern structure in organic warmth, while inside, bespoke custom millwork throughout the kitchen and bathrooms showcases the dedication to precision that has become the Kennedy Construction signature.
